1:33 GPM - Ryan FR1 "Fireball"

Never see things like this before... Really fantastic build!
Some questions:
1. What is the material used to fill up spaces between the keel and the skin? (Is it soft or hard?)
2. The joint of 2 skin parts at the top-front of the vertical tail (you highlighted it in the picture) - how do you manage to have such a smooth result? Could you share the skill used for it?

Fantastic build! Ryan FR Fireball is not a quite successful aircraft of its era, but your build is really beautiful and definitely a great success!
