关于本舰：
V-108 是第一次世界大战期间德意志帝国海军的鱼雷艇。不过，她今天能够成为纸模型的题材，大概源于她与波兰之间的渊源：这艘船在1918年波兰重获独立后，成为波兰首批战舰之一，于1921至1925年在波兰海军服役。
她于1914年在德国斯德丁（Stettin，今波兰什切青 Szczecin）按照荷兰海军的订单设计建造，命名为 Z-4（姊妹舰 Z-1，Z-2，Z-3）。随着一战爆发，这艘船被德国收编，重新命名为鱼雷艇 V-108 （姊妹舰V-105，V-106，V-107），于一战中为德国服役，在波罗的海与俄国海军对战。
一战后，德国海军被战胜国瓜分，波兰仅得到六艘鱼雷艇（由于英国极力反对新兴海上力量的发展），V-108是其中之一。（她的姊妹舰 V-105 先被分配给巴西，再被英国一家船厂收购，后与波兰的另一艘鱼雷艇交换。似乎V-108也是同样辗转来到波兰的。）V-108 被重新命名为 ORP Kaszub（ORP：Okręt Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej，“波兰共和国舰船”），自1921年开始在波兰服役。1925年7月20日，V-108因锅炉爆炸沉没，三名船员丧生。

再来看一下 V-108 的姊妹舰 V-105（加入波兰海军后更名为 ORP Mazur）。1939年9月1日，二战爆发第一天，正准备离港的 ORP Mazur 遭到德国容克 Ju-87 的攻击沉没，成为二战中第一艘被击沉的船，约40名船员牺牲。该舰沉没时，有一名战士坚持向敌机还击，直至船完全沉没。这名战士的孙子后来成为了波兰著名的诗人、作家（好像扯远了……）。
关于图纸及设计者：
Digital Navy （http://digitalnavy.com/） 是 Roman Detyna 先生的个人网站，他在此展示和出售自己设计的舰船（及飞机）纸模型。V-108 是 Digital Navy 提供的免费图纸之一，并且提供了两个版本，这里制作的是2005年的新版，增加了颇多细节。
根据在网上找到的关于 Roman 的信息，他早年生活在波兰（波兰人民对纸模型的热情啊~），现居纽约，是一名结构工程师（所以他的设计真的很棒）。可是 Digital Navy 自2011年5月22日之后就没有更新过，2011年6月11日，papermodelers网站有人发帖称“向 Roman 订购模型后没有任何回音，此前向他订购的东西总是能很快拿到”。不知道 Roman 是工作太忙还是有其他什么事，但愿他一切都好。

另外，由于水线上部蒙皮最下面会覆盖在船底蒙皮上缘，所以船头会有这样的情况：
可以看到最上边两侧是紧贴着的，可是到了下边就开了一个小缝。要如何制作才能避免这种情况？
最后是英文介绍。不知道 Roman 会不会有机会看到？也许看到自己的设计在中国也有人喜欢的话他会更新网站也说不定……
About the ship:
V-108 was a torpedo boat of Kaiserliche Marine (German)。 However, I believe her relationship with Poland navy is the reason of her rebirth as card model: She was one of the first ships of the Polish Navy recreated after Poland regained its independence in 1918. In service from 1921 to 1925.
She was built in 1914 by Stettiner Maschinenbau A.G. Vulcan in Stettin, Germany (now in Poland). She was begun for a Dutch Navy order, as Z-4 (along with three sister ships Z-1,Z-2,Z-3), but after the outbreak of World War I she was confiscated by Germany and commissioned as torpedo boat V-108, taking an active part in World War I, fighting in the Baltic Sea against the Russian Navy.
When the German Imperial Navy was divided among victorious powers in 1919 after World War I, Poland was granted six torpedo boats, among them V-108. The ship arrived in Poland in October, 1921, officially entering into service and renamed ORP Kaszub (ORP: Okręt Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej，Vessel of the Republic of Poland).
The ship was sunk by a boiler explosion on July 20, 1925. 3 crewmen died.

Her sister ship, V-105 (ORP Mazur), was one of the first ships sunk during World War II. On the first day of World War II, September 1, 1939, ORP Mazur, commanded by Lieutenant Tadeusz Rutkowski, was in a port of Oksywie. At 2 pm she was at a pier, preparing to leave port, when she was attacked by German Junkers Ju 87s from IV./LG.1. The ship suffered one close hit and a hit amidships, and sunk still firing at the German aircraft. The sailor, who although the ship was sinking, still fired until waves washed him overboard was First Lieutenant Jacek Dehnel, grandfather of the famous polish poet and writer Jacek Dehnel. About 40 of the crew were killed.
About the designer:
Digital Navy (http://digitalnavy.com/) is a personal web site by Mr. Roman Detyna, on which he displays and sells paper models of his own design. V-108 is one of the free offers from Digital Navy. There're 2 versions in different scale and different difficulty. Here I built the later version (2005) which has more details.
According to public information of Roman on the internet, he spent his early days in Poland and now in New York, as a Structural Engineer. However, Digital Navy's last update was on 22nd May 2011; on 11th Jun 2011, a user of papermodelers was asking "Where is Roman Detyna? I have ordered from Roman Detyna (Digital Navy) and have NOT received either the product nor any response to the emails I have sent him. I have always received prompt service from him before so I am now wondering what happened."
I've no idea on what blocks Roman from Digital Navy. Hope him all the best.
